Mueller Water Products, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has openings at its Chattanooga, TN facility, specifically, in the Foundry Department.


Mueller is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Sustainability Technician position.



Responsibilities:



  • Work Safely in the Manufacturing Production Environment.

  • Participate in recycling, landscaping, and housekeeping projects

  • Maintain upkeep of facility as assigned by supervisor.

  • Environmental and general condition audits

  • Follow detailed verbal / written instructions, processes, and procedures.

  • Read and understand customer work orders and standard work instructions.

  • Prepare and stage materials and parts in a manufacturing production environment.

  • Organize and move materials and manufactured products.

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and process-control equipment efficiently and safely.

  • Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.

  • Communicates and works effectively with others.

  • May provide hands-on and verbal job function training to coworkers as needed.

  • Report problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment, and materials to the Production Supervisor or member of management.

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate safety and manufacturing functions.

  • Any assignments assigned by a direct supervisor or a member of the management



Work is scheduled Monday through Saturday. Shifts are 8 to 10 hours with mandatory overtime shifts. The facility does have multiple shifts, employees MUST be flexible and may be required to change shifts per contract language if applicable.



Job Expectations:



  • Candidates must be available to work all shifts including possible mandatory overtime on weekends.

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds.

  • Repetitive standing, bending, turning, and twisting for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold)

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach at arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

  • Ability to use power tools, air tools, and other vibratory tools.

  • Ability to work around hot heavy machinery.

  • Must be able to pass a basic aptitude test, physical, with drug/alcohol test and background screen.

  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods

  • Previous experience in a foundry, manufacturing, or construction environment setting
