Purpose
The Virtual Training Officer is primarily responsible for supporting all training and technical assistance activities associated with CWS' Virtual Reception and Placement (R&P) program to ensure excellence in service delivery and compliance with federal regulations. Key responsibilities include the creation of training plans for virtual R&P staff, the creation of a Cultural Orientation (CO) curriculum for virtual clients and regular assessment of staff and clients' training needs. Activities include but are not limited to facilitation of webinars, communities of practice sessions, conferences, and workshops, and creation and management of guidance documents and content within CWS' internal Learning Management System (LMS).
Responsibilities
In coordination with CWS' Senior Training Officer and Associate Director of Virtual R&P, adapt CWS' existing standardized training plan for virtual R&P staff for use in their onboarding and ongoing professional development.
Develop and implement a staff training plan for ongoing use; including the collection of training records across the virtual R&P teams.
Create and implement regular training needs surveys that capture training requests from CWS VRP managers and staff; ensure that developed training aligns with these identified needs. In addition, ensure that training aligns with monitoring findings and outcomes data as reported from CWS Monitoring and Evaluation staff.
Manage, schedule, and maintain primary responsibility for the execution of web-based virtual training events, including the facilitation of staff and/or subject matter experts tasked with presenting content. Events include (but are not limited to) webinars, communities of practice sessions, conferences, and workshops.
Coordinate with VRP staff in the creation of guidance documents and supplementary materials that provide reference and clarity on all programmatic topics as identified in training surveys and from monitoring outcomes, inclusive of (but not limited to) handbooks, toolkits, and one-pagers.
Collaborate with CWS data management team to manage CWS Learning logistics, including tracking and reporting analytics on VRP staff completion of courses. Coordinate staff and subject matter experts tasked with creating LMS content, including advising on content and instructional design of courses.
Develop training evaluation tools and protocols and analyze evaluation data to inform future training content and delivery.
Manage the tracking of all training data including attendance, evaluation results, training plan progress, and learning objectives.
Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
Specialized training in learning and development or training preferred.
Experience:
5 years of previous work experience in a local resettlement affiliate or a national office of a resettlement agency is required. Local resettlement affiliate experience strongly preferred.
2-3 years of training and/or instructional design experience
Experience with adult learning techniques, instructional design, and resettlement program training development
Experience in general office work, processing information and materials, and maintaining records
Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and database software is essential
Experience using virtual learning platforms such as Zoom, Articulate, and LMS systems such as LMS365.

This position is a remote US-based role with in-person responsibilities. Employees wishing to maintain a remote work arrangement must be able to fulfil the following conditions:

Regular work hours must span core business hours 10AM-4PM Eastern time
Close proximity to U.S. airport and ability to travel to attend CWS and external meetings, conferences, site visits and other in-person engagements.
