Job Summary
The Part-Time WFIU On-Air Host/Producer works within IU Radio/TV Content Group, and reports directly to the Director of Broadcast Operations.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Serves as WFIU's local announcer and board operator during a daily NPR drive-time newsmagazine such as All Things Considered.
Assists with on-air fundraising during WFIU membership drives.
Represents the station by responding to listener feedback and appearing at events.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Broadcast Media, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or Music)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
1 year's experience in on-air delivery and multi-platform audio production
Preferred
2 years in on-air delivery and multi-platform audio production
SKILLS
Required
Excellent public speaking skills
Knowledge of digital audio recordings, editing equipment and software, and on-air studio equipment
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in various audio and online technologies and capacities
Superior writing skills for on-air radio and online applications
Ability to interact with a wide variety of clients and guests
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
Ability to learn new digital applications quickly
Preferred
Proficient communication skills
Working knowledge of classical/jazz music history and literature
Broad knowledge of the arts
Maintains a high degree of professionalism

Working Conditions / Demands
Selected hires must be able to complete the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation.

The selected candidate will be offered $16.00 per hour.
Work Hours
Work shifts will be varied throughout the week working an average 10-15 hours per week.
Part-time employees at Indiana University may not work over 29 hours per week across all University-held positions.
