Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Staff Development to oversee our facility's staff education and training programs. The Director of Staff Development will play a vital role in ensuring that our staff members receive the training and support they need to deliver quality care to our residents. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for staff development.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and evaluate staff education and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

  • Coordinate orientation programs for new hires and provide ongoing education and training for current staff members.

  • Collaborate with department heads to assess training needs and develop customized education plans for staff members.

  • Conduct competency assessments and skills validations for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

  • Serve as a resource and mentor to staff members, providing guidance and support to promote professional growth and development.

  • Stay current on the latest trends and evidence-based practices in nursing education and staff development.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys related to staff education and training.

  • Maintain accurate records of staff education and training activities and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.


Qualifications:

  • LVN with current licensure in the state of California.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in staff development or nursing education, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

  • Certification in Staff Development or Nursing Professional Development preferred.

  • Strong clinical background with knowledge of nursing principles and practices.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.

  • Experience developing and implementing education and training programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software programs.

  • Commitment to promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
