Job Description:

The Institutional Buy Side SBU is responsible for the strategy, execution and development of products that establish FactSet as the premier technology partner for the Analytics investment community. The Buy Side Middle Office group provides a fully connected ecosystem, increases

operational efficiency and reduces total cost of ownership for our clients. The Middle Office group is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join a team of software engineers building, maintaining, and driving the effort to provide Portfolio Commentary in interactive and batched fashion across all client Portfolios.

The engineer will collaborate extensively with Product Management and alongside other engineers within the PAR engineering team. They will also work with Machine Learning, DMW, PIE, and other teams to integrate recommended technology and enhance best practices, while advocating for and furthering GenAI requirements for PA3 and other PAR applications and processes.

Initially, this position will be a Senior Full Stack Engineering role, reporting directly to the Director of Performance, Attribution, and Returns Engineering. There are potential opportunities for growth for the right candidate in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, document, maintain, and enhance high-quality code

  • Collaborate with other engineers, product developers and strategists to brainstorm ideas, implement prototypes and gather feedback.

  • Follow best practices such as code reviews, testing, documentation, and version control.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting.

  • Set milestones for self and reporting on the progress and evolution of tasks and projects

  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to build best-in-class products and services

  • Balance and accelerate work towards technical debt reduction while delivering client-facing products

  • Work closely with PD and stakeholders to identify and prioritize work which provides the greatest value, both immediate and long-term

Requirements/Critical Skills:

  • 3+ years FactSet or industry experience in software engineering or a related field

  • Experience writing web services

  • Experience with Agile development

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with Go and protobuf

  • Experience using LLMs and with prompt engineering, databricks, and MLFlow

  • Knowledge of Portfolio Analysis and attribution models

  • Experience with web, including Fusion, Vue, and AngularJS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, or higher (concentration in Computer Science or related major preferred)

The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of California, Connecticut and New York is $140,000. - 185,000.00
