The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for an open clinical track faculty position in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine for a position in the Marysville Large Animal Field Services Practice.
Position Overview
The successful applicant will join four other faculty members at the OSU Large Animal Services ambulatory clinic located in Marysville, Ohio and will be expected to provide exceptional patient care and excellent client service to a range of large animal clients including dairy, beef, small ruminant, and equine in a clinical teaching setting.
The Marysville clinic is a full-service veterinary teaching practice providing individual animal, herd-based and emergency services for food and fiber animals and horses. The Marysville ambulatory service has over 5,000 active clients yielding more than 7,000 farm calls each year. The practice is housed in a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art building. Marysville is located approximately 30 miles northwest of the Columbus campus. The Marysville large animal ambulatory clinical rotation is a required core learning experience for all 4th year veterinary students at OSU and is regularly rated as a top rotation by the students.
Clinical-track candidates will typically have 85-95% time commitment on clinics, including patient management, client service, clinical teaching of students, and advanced training of interns and residents. The candidate will have additional commitments to didactic and laboratory teaching for students in the professional veterinary program. Sponsored research is not required for clinical-track faculty, but clinical research, publications, or other scholarly activities to advance clinical veterinary medicine are encouraged. Faculty are also expected to be involved in professional and community outreach, continuing education, committee service, and curriculum development.

The successful candidate will be part of the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine within the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University. The department combines the disciplines of veterinary microbiology, epidemiology, immunology, parasitology, public health, production medicine, and clinical medicine and provides the major agricultural and public health focus for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
