Career Readiness Specialist – Grant

University of South Carolina Upstate

The Career Readiness Specialist will recruit/certify/enroll/execute career readiness activities/work-based learning experiences/enroll in driver’s education/act as case manager and enter information into the South Carolina Works Online Systems (SCWOS)/perform 12 month follow-up. Participants will be from Cherokee and Union counties.

Required Education and Experience


Masters degree in Student Services or related field or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and successful background check are required.

Preferred Qualifications


Strongly prefer job development and teaching experience and knowledge of area businesses.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Work with youth/young adults (ages 16-24). Ability to work with and successfully implement activities for at-risk youth, ages 16-24. Must have excellent organization skills.
