Job Description:

The Alumni Engagement & Branding Director will assist Alumni Engagement team of developing and coordinate initiatives that build strong relationships through Meharry Medical College alumni social media platforms. Foster a culture of philanthropy and create synergies with other University events to engage alumni. We are seeking a mission- driven individual with a keen eye for details and a passion for Meharry Medical College. Maintains key partnership with the team to ensure Meharry Medical College brand, designs, and standards are utilized in a unified manner.



Daily Operations



  • Planning and execution of promoting alumni through Meharry Medical College alumni social media platforms

  • Engage and foster alumni relations through social media and digital communications

  • Assist with the planning for reunion weekend events

  • Coordinate and work with class agents of obtaining special reunion gifts

  • Create and executes activities for alumni affinity groups

  • Assist with locating lost alumni & Performs other related duties as assigned.




Required Skills



  • Passion for making connections and having conversations daily with new people; driven to meet high-volume metrics with urgency and to make an impact in the overall reunion class gifts.

  • Knowledge of using all social media platforms

  • Willingness and ability to connect, engage, and directly solicit prospects for reunion class gifts

  • Energized through social interactions and comfortable with making direct asks of alumni and having purposeful conversations that build relationships and have an impact on goals and metrics

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information

  • Ability to use current computer technology, such as Windows, Excel, Word, Raiser's Edge

  • Travel as required

  • Periodic evening and weekend work may be required

  • Planning and implementing special events for alumni

  • Adept in digital communication and maintaining an interactive online presence

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently, self-motivated.

  • Desire and skill set to engage an alumni base from various generations, genders, and cultural backgrounds.

  • Comfort with last minute changes and adjustments

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned




Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, is necessary

  • Two year of relevant experience, or the equivalent, is necessary
