Vertiv is seeking a Test Engineer to perform validation/verification of our Advanced Monitoring and Control Software. This person will provide technical expertise in the testing of a distributed control system supervisor including subsystems for user interfaces, databases, security conformance, and network communications. Work will include test planning, creation of test cases, test execution, and maintenance of test hardware. A successful candidate will have experience in any of the following areas: UI testing, test automation, requirements review, test planning, network protocols.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other engineering groups, team leads, and product management to ensure software meets product requirements.
Create product test plans and test cases from product requirements.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug test software and product interactions.
Develop test environments for devices under test.
Document technical issues and solutions.
Provide clear and detailed written reports of bugs and report steps to the development team.
Suggest fixes and improvements.
Report activities, project status, and plans to team lead and management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
3+ years of software testing experience
Familiarity with various testing techniques
Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports
Experience with defect tracking systems
Experience with a test case management
Experience with testing of REST based APIs using Postman or similar
Experience with Git source control
Experience working in Agile development life cycle
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server relational databases and query authoring is a plus
Experience with TCP/IP networking and Wireshark is a plus
Modbus, BACnet, or SNMP experience is a plus
Experience with developing test automation a plus
Able to learn and pick up new technologies quickly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly
