Job Description:

Manage the OCIO network teams. Directs the building of teams for projects to ensure employee compatibility, cross training, and skills development. Set direction for the state network, respond to and be the main point of contact for leadership relating to network events. Monitors work status, prepares status reports and takes corrective actions as necessary.



Job duties



Designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure. Standardize practices for the state network teams. Develop and identify training needs for network team members. Develop members of the team, ensure cross training, and skills development. Monitors work status, prepares status reports and takes corrective actions as necessary. Allocates resources such as staffing, equipment, space and budget. Supervise the two IT Supervisors on the Network team. Performs personnel functions, including: hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary procedures. Prepare and execute vendor agreements; monitors and manages IT vendor agreements.



Requirements/Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience in related information technology discipline(s) (network infrastructure, coding, systems or database), and two years of experience supervising activities of professional level IT Staff; experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis, two years of which should be as a project coordinator, leader, or supervisor.



Preferred Qualifications: Experience with networking, IP addressing, contracts, and vendor relations. A bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience in related information technology discipline(s) (network infrastructure, coding, systems or database), and two years of experience supervising activities of professional level IT Staff; experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis, two years of which should be as a project coordinator, leader, or supervisor.



Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Knowledge of personnel management techniques/practices; networking standards and configuration; client service relations; vendor relations. Skill in coaching and developing others; communication with others; solving complex problems; critical thinking; customer service. Ability to cope with pressure, stress, criticism, setbacks, personal and work related problems with maturity and restraint. Update/use job relevant knowledge; conceptualize and develop original solutions to business needs.
