Overall responsibility for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the MAHLE Aftermarket USA sales to the production engine rebuilders (PER's) of the products in the MAHLE Aftermarket portfolio. Develop & execute the strategic long range plans for sales and customer satisfaction while focusing on profitability. Coach, mentor, lead, train, motivate and drive the sales staff to achieve sales targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the relationship with channel partners in the production engine rebuilders (PER's) and competitive requirements to maximize sales volume with existing and prospective customers while ensuring profitability.
Assists in business planning and strategy determination for MAHLE Aftermarket to effectively address sales growth within the independent aftermarket, including the identification of new product offerings.
Assists in market research on various products & competitors; keeps abreast of market developments.
Makes recommendations on sales promotions, evaluates their success or failure, and makes recommendations for improvements.
Interacts with key cross-functional areas such as Marketing, Finance, Product Management and Supply Chain to address customer needs while ensuring consistency and profitability.
Manages activities including forecasts, budgets, business plans, monthly meetings, and strategy definition.
Works with Marketing to develop appropriate messaging for various channel opportunities.
Continually looks for ways to enhance revenue generation opportunities and increase operational efficiency of service delivery.
Attends applicable industry events and participates in national, regional and customer trade shows to support sales goal attainment.
Advises the Marketing team in the development of tools and customer specific sales programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree is required; Masters degree is a plus
10 or more years of experience in automotive aftermarket sales is required
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and business development is required
Supervisory experience is required
Knowledge of engine parts, gaskets, filters, thermal management products, and rotating electrical applications is strongly preferred
Experience and understanding of the aftermarket retailers, warehouse distributors and distribution channels is required
Proven record of successfully growing a business with expanded customers and markets is required
Strong negotiation skills
Must be a results-oriented
Demonstrated track record of working with customers, peers, and management to accomplish both long and short term goals
