Basic Job Functions:



The basic functions of the Lead Lab Technician include but are not limited to: training lab technicians on their job functions and supporting them as needed, be the point of contact for sales to expedite and prioritize testing, interacting with metallurgists and production to provide help with trials, special testing etc., overseeing calibration of measuring equipment around the beam mill, hot mill, pickle lines and mechanical testing labs, keeping the sample preparation and testing equipment maintained and troubleshooting as needed, housekeeping and maintenance in work area. This is a daylight position, but the applicant should be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends and holidays when needed.


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• One year of experience in a testing lab


• High School diploma or equivalent

• Knowledge of quality systems / internal auditor training


• Knowledge of AS400 and Excel
