Job Description:

This leadership position is responsible for directing and managing the Credit Analysis supervisors and analysts. Responsibilities include, underwriting the most complex SBA credit relationships, exercising significant individual lending authority, conducting periodic risk assessments of the portfolio and assigning risk ratings, conducting complex analysis to support ACL, managing the credit systems related to the production of the Credit staff, evaluating potential platforms and templates used in the underwriting process, managing critical tracking systems such as receipt of financial statements, and managing the Criticized Asset Committee process and related reporting. This position is accountable for authoring policies that affect the underwriting of SBA loans and has autonomy to independently problem solve directly with the client and/or the Corporate Banking Manager.


Essential Job Responsibilities____________________________________


1. Provides leadership and direction to the Credit Analysis Supervisors and Analysts and is responsible for all facets of the departments.


2. Underwrites the most complex SBA credit relationships.


3. Exercises significant individual lending authority and may chair a Officer Loan Committee.


4. Conducts periodic risk assessments of the portfolio and is accountable for assigning risk ratings.


5. Conducts complex analysis to support ACL (Allowance for Credit Loss), which is the largest and most subjective estimate that affects the company's earnings.


6. Determines and directs Analysis required for underwriting complex SBA relationships, including loans which may have a conventional component.


7. Attends to client facing responsibilities and may frequently attend calls with Lenders. May be required to interact independently with client, CFO, CEO or outside auditors.


8. Develops appropriate entity level controls. Independently resolves audit and loan review findings.


9. Monitors economic and industry trends and evaluates potential impacts on credit quality and credit risk.


10. Authors policy influencing financial analysis performed by the staff.


11. Provides analytical support for Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) rates applied in the bank's ACLL model.


12. Oversees the up keep of all credit systems, such as Abrigo.


13. Manages the development of tracking systems for reporting purposes.


14. Prepares department budget and determines appropriate resource needs, subject to approval of Senior Credit Officer.


Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications_____________________________


1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and ten (10) years related experience is required; MBA is preferred.


2. Extensive knowledge of lending regulations and financial analysis, real estate appraisals, discounted cash flow analysis, loan structuring and collateral valuation is required.


3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to both motivate a team and interact with professionals, including Executives, both internally and externally required.


4. Proficient analytical and mathematical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel are required. Requires ability to build complex models.


5. Ability to comply with loan policy and procedure and manage to established budgets required.


6. A valid driver's license and ability to travel are required.
