Job Summary
The GIS Consultant is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement solutions on enterprise GIS and asset management technology platforms (e.g., Esri's ArcGIS platform). The GIS Consultant will interface directly with the client to understand business problems and work cross-collaboratively to implement solutions. The individual works alongside customers and their stakeholders in a lead role to define, design, and deliver enhancements, new applications, and technical solutions that meet the needs of the stakeholders. The GIS Consultant possesses industry best practice, real world experience and can serve as a client solution advisor, success manager, and business practice (BD) leader. The individual is also capable of providing a wide range of GIS-based data management, analysis, and reporting tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to the development of map layers, map services, and configurable map-based web and mobile app templates. This role serves as a technical resource that configures and designs GIS solutions in-line with business requirements and desired specifications. The individual at this level provides directional leadership on projects and assists in making strategic technical decisions that impact current and future business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
Sedentary work: exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Considerable time is spent at a desk using a computer (fine motor skills, visual acuity) and frequent use of telephone (talking, hearing).
