Physical Requirements This position requires regularly performing tasks with repetitive motions, and standing or walking for extended periods of time; intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; and standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Also involves some occasional risk of injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; exposure to loud noises, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, radiation, burns, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people; and job-related travel (less than 10% of time).

Job Summary The Nurse Clinical Ambulatory provides disease specific patient care to a group of patients who have serious acute and/or chronic health events or who are seeking healthcare to maintain their state of wellness. Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to skilled assessments, care plans and care plan implementation, patient education and clinical evaluation or interventions.

This position will primarily serve in a triage capacity, answering Peds triage calls from UK and Community Physicians.

This position requires working with medical professionals who are working under time and efficiency constraints in a busy ambulatory care setting with a patient centered care focus on quality, safety, and service. A working knowledge of enterprise, nursing, departmental policies, protocols, and procedures is needed to be successful.
