Responsibilities

Reporting to the President, MSA Americas, the Americas Strategic Business Leader, Firefighter Apparel will be responsible for providing high-quality, innovative turnout gear to the first responders that care for our communities. By delivering value that our customers recognize and reward, you will capture long-term growth for MSA’s turnout gear and boot business in the Americas. earn market share gains. As a key leader, you will facilitate effective cross-functional decision-making, communication, and resource allocation across internal teams, as well as with customers, channel partners, and suppliers.

Your responsibilities will encompass any and all activities needed to support long-term growth for turnout gear and boots in the Americas, coordinating efforts between MSA, Globe, and/or Bristol teams (where applicable to serve markets requesting EN-compliant gear), as well as external partners. This may include, for example:

  • Go-to-Market Strategies: Create effective go-to-market plans for new and existing products.
  • Market Competitiveness: Develop branding strategies and enhance market competitiveness.
  • Staffing Needs: Define staffing and training requirements, including direct labor staffing and succession planning for critical roles.
  • Operational Efficiency and Quality: Optimize operational capacity, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Manufacturing Partnerships: Evaluate and manage manufacturing partnerships, where applicable, to enhance production capabilities.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Coordinate product development, research, and refreshment efforts.
  • Geographical Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new geographical market opportunities.

The Americas Strategic Business Leader, Firefighter Apparel will be entrusted with the following duties:

Serving our Customers:

  • Understand and serve the needs of firefighter apparel for First Responders throughout the Americas.

Fostering a High-Performance Culture:

  • Engage, motivate, and inspire Globe associates. Consider their professional satisfaction, engagement, and appropriate work-life balance.
  • Foster Continuous Learning. prioritize personal growth and development. Ensure that all associates at every level have access to a wide range of learning resources, including workshops, mentorship programs, and skill-building sessions.
  • Active engagement, listening and onsite presence alongside Globe teammates will be essential.
  • Champion talent initiatives and associate development.
  • Identify single point resource vulnerabilities and enact mitigation actions.

Enable Internal Resourcing and Priorities:

  • Your role is pivotal to deliver differentiated value to our customers, to truly earn growth and market share for turnout gear products.
  • Work collaboratively with Globe, Bristol and MSA teams regarding sales, marketing, channels, and overall commercial strategies that enable profitable growth prospects for firefighter apparel products.
  • Work with operations to ensure successful, sustainable delivery of Globe production. Where prioritization decisions need to be made (e.g., volume of rush orders, configurations, etc.), coordinate amongst applicable functions to come to the decision that best balances short-term business needs with long-term growth strategy.
  • Effectively communicate the rationale, decision, and attendant results.
  • Work with teams including operations, product marketing, segment marketing, inside and outside sales, marcom, customer service and HR teams to ensure alignment of priorities, decisions, and initiatives with long-term growth strategy.
  • Identify other growth needs and strategies.

Building and maintaining strong Strategic Partnerships in the market:

  • Build and capitalize on strategic alliances and partnerships across MSA, Globe, Bristol, and with external partners, to collaboratively achieve growth goals.
  • Partner with sourcing organization to maximize alliances with vendors, for mutual benefit.


Qualifications

The identified candidate is required to possess the following:

Mimumum Year’s of Experience (Required)

  • 12+ years of varied commercial, marketing, sales, or strategy experience

Experience (Preferred)

  • Previous leadership of a region, business unit, or product portfolio
  • Leading geographically dispersed and diverse teams, building a culture of responsibility and accountability
  • Proficiency with financial concepts
  • Operations or sourcing experience or awareness
  • Successful sales/business development track record, leading profitable, long-term revenue growth
  • Experience with Turnout Gear business

Education (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline

Education (Preferred):

  • MBA or related Masters degree

Location:

Pittsfield, NH, or location flexibility contingent on sufficient workforce presence and engagement

Job Grade:

  • will be awarded commensurate with experience and skills.
