JOB SUMMARY:
Provides overall direction and administration of the retirement plan area to include developing new trust retirement plan business, enhancing efficiency of document flow, and providing technical knowledge to clients and prospect base concerning all aspects of retirement plan administration.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Bachelor’s degree
* Four+ years’ experience in retirement plan administration with sales and business development orientation or related professional experience
* Management experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Working knowledge of computer software packages for retirement plan and business development as well as Word and Excel
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proven strength in analysis, problem solving, negotiation, organization, time management, interpersonal skills, and customer service
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervisory duties to include interviewing and selection, training and development, delegating responsibilities, monitoring work flow, ensuring quality control, monitoring and tracking employee performance, completing performance appraisals, coaching and counseling, administering progressive discipline, and ensuring compliance to bank policies and procedures.
2. Makes presentations to clients individually or with New Business Development Officer, Trust Group Manager and/or Investment Officer as necessary.
3. Administers highly sensitive retirement plan accounts, which may include those of bank employees and officers. Maintains daily oversight of overdrafts and cash balances for assigned accounts.
4. Consults with clients concerning investments and strategies for plan administration. Meets with trust customers periodically to review accounts, review investment performance and related ERISA matters.
5. Works with commercial and retail loan officers in developing new business and retaining existing business.
6. Works with other areas of the Trust Group to integrate ideas and services and to improve the generation of existing services.
7. Assists Trust Group Manager and other executive officers as requested.
8. Represents the Bank on various civic boards and in community activities.
9. Integrates book of business throughout the banking network.
10. Handles educational enrollment meetings for the plan participants.
11. Responsible for reviewing trust system for additions and modifications relating to ERISA developments.
12. Oversees and monitors staff with plan document preparation and explains plan document and its nuisances to clients.
13. Works with and assists with FDIC examination and annual Audit on Plan requests and issues.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
