Job Title: Project Manager



FLSA Status: Non- Exempt



Department: Civil and Environmental Engineering

Range: $25.00 based on experience for up to 10 hours per week.



Position Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate the daily implementation of grant program requirements and activities

  • Liaise between the NSF Managing Grants Official and Program Officer, Sponsored Research Services, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office, Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PIs, and senior personnel

  • In coordination with the PI, Co-PIs, and senior personnel, create a program plan and structure, monitor progress and performance against the program plan, and identify, resolve, or escalate program risks and issues

  • Facilitate the estimation of program costs, resources, and time required to complete the overall program, monitor activities and budget, direct and lead component project manager activities for consistency and alignment and work with program leadership to ensure these targets are met. Follow established change control processes if targets can no longer be met.

  • Prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the grant within and beyond the grant management team, communicate program goals, risks, and status with stakeholders, and develop and use appropriate dashboards, measures, and reporting tools

  • Set priorities, allocate tasks, and collaborate with project staff to meet program targets and milestones. Manage the change control process and act as the mid-level decision making authority

  • Assist the PI, Co-PIs and senior personnel with the facilitation of project activities.

  • Help PI and Co-PIs seek additional funding if the opportunity arises

  • Serve as point of contact for information pertaining to inquiries about the project.

  • Develop and maintain project website and project social media accounts.

  • Manage the reimbursement for PI, Co-PIs, senior personnel, and project participants.

Education:
Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree



Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree



Experience:



Minimal Qualifications: 4 years of relevant professional experience requiring a high level of competency and responsibility. Examples of relevant professional experience would be work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion; project or program management; higher education; or faculty matters.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Working knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion issues

  • Experience managing externally funded grants or projects

  • Experience working in higher education or other complex management/governance environments

  • CAS Information Web-Admit database
