Job Description:
As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will work part-time, providing essential support to the supervising speech and language pathologist. Your responsibilities include:
Speech and Language Interventions:
Work independently, following plans provided by the Speech and Language Pathologist.
Provide speech and language interventions for designated students, including oral, written manual, and augmentative communication.
Administrative Duties:
Perform clerical and technical tasks for the Speech and Language Pathologist, such as preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring IEP (Individualized Education Program) compliance.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress based on established intervention plans.
Collaboration and Representation:
Consult and collaborate with the Speech and Language Pathologist, other building personnel, and SPED (Special Education) team members regarding services to students.
Represent the Speech and Language Pathologist during IEP meetings and other team meetings.
Student Services:
Assist the Speech and Language Pathologist in providing services for students with disabilities.
Tasks include scheduling, screening, observations, instruction, and data collection in classrooms and/or individual/small group settings.
Health Services Documentation:
Document health-related services in the Designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD (Douglas County School District) School Medicaid Reimbursement Program.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders
Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology
First Aid & CPR Certification (American Heart Association)
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certification (SLPA) - ASHA and Colorado Department of Education
