Job Description:

SUMMARY
Responsible for compliance with government and third-party standards and regulations. Perform on-site and audit-based evaluations in operations; audit compliance to SOPs/standard work, operational processes, product rules and regulations, personnel practices, cGMPs, etc. Obtain HACCP, PCQI and Internal Auditing certifications. Perform higher level tasks, handle complex situations, take a leadership role, is a point of contact for escalations, and train others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain current knowledge base of good manufacturing practices for food and cosmetics. Attend or assist third party audits, including FDA, QAI and ISO 22716.
Audit in-line quality checks. Perform SOP/Process audits in Operations. Develop, write and update SOPs for current and new manufacturing operations and quality processes.
Work on and may lead projects relating to organizational process optimation, develop plans of actions and initiates changes for improving process standards throughout the facility.
Develop training programs based on auditor standards and regulations.Ensure that required training is done on a timely basis and maintain training records that can be retrieved and presented in a professional manner.Attend, assist, or lead third party audits.
Perform plant inspections, testing, and sampling for quality assurance compliance. Facility point of contact addressing issues or escalates to management as needed. Perform environmental testing/allergen swabbing. Perform plant water testing. Answer process-related questions for packaging and processing. Placard non-conforming items and complete warehouse transfers in the ERP system. Initiate Product Rework or Reject Forms. Attend production meetings with quality updates. Has a critical role in assuring product quality and continuous improvement. Represent quality assurance on cross-functional teams. Work independently and collaboratively while demonstrating excellent judgment, accuracy, and decision making with little oversight. Assists other quality assurance personnel when needed. Must be flexible to rotate through other Frontier facilities, to provide support as needed. Maintain current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents, including compliance with FDA, CTFA, organic and kosher regulations and standards, HACCP and other governmental and trade requirements. Research requirements of new product lines to ensure compliance. Assist with product certification and audit requirements. Answers customer questions and provides intra-departmental support. Performs general clerical duties such as filing, data entry and report writing. Strive to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical. Work safely at all times, follow safety rules and policies and participate in scheduled training. Report injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; propose corrective action. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase company efficiency. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities. This job has informal leadership responsibilities and may train and coach others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and 2 to 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, reports and memos; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively with a variety of people and respond to basic questions in situations where common courtesy and tact are needed.

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; use a computer to create spreadsheets and charts, and run reports.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.Good organizational skills, and attention to detail.Ability to work within team concept.Familiarity with Word, Excel and database software.
