Mechanical Engineer Supervisor, New Product Development

Job Description:

The Role:

Entegris is seeking a highly motivated New Product Development Mechanical Engineering Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate project timelines with NPD management.
  • Assist and guide other engineers with their ongoing and new projects.
  • Lead projects and coordinate timelines with a larger group.
  • Hands-on component assemblies for subassemblies and support equipment.
  • Manage change through cross-functional partnering in a global environment.
  • Develop factory in fracture to support container builds, cleans, capacity and quality improvements.
  • Support alternative site factory build out – Entegris is building advanced deposition materials capabilities in other countries. This role will support the build out.
  • Confirmation of component fitment, tolerance stack up, functionality, ease of assembly and use.
  • Create required documentation for new and modified containers and sub-components including drawings, bills of material, and part numbers.
  • Quoting components and ordering parts directly with machine shops and outside vendors.
  • Support 2D drawings of components, subassemblies and bills of materials that are up to ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards.
  • Work with the engineering team to create new part numbers, ECRs and other support documentation.
  • Work safely and drive process improvements.
  • Listen actively and solve problems in a structured manner. Work with product managers, project managers, engineering managers, operations managers and plant managers to prioritize projects, balance teamwork loads, and meet project deadlines.
  • Look for CIP opportunities to automate processes, move from paper governance to data governance, eliminate manual steps / data collection, provide dashboards for decision making.
  • Central point of contact for Mechanical Engineering organization for NPD. Distribute workload and projects according to team’s current project load.
  • Quoting components and ordering parts directly with outside vendors.
  • Up to 20% travel, both domestically and internationally, is required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical field or related experience is required. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience (5-10 years) of increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience working directly with machine shops to understand capabilities.
  • 5+ years working experience GD&T; Proficient with (GD&T) and the impact on product cost and reproducibility.
  • Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/A) experience.
  • Travel, both domestically and internationally, may be required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities.
  • Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours.
  • Demonstrated experience within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization serving the semiconductor industry.
  • Handling of air sensitive compounds
  • Introduce improvements in product performance and/or cost (value engineering).
  • Understand Materials of Construction and how they interact in contact with corrosive chemicals.
  • A fundamental knowledge of (vapor pressure, material stability, material compatibility, etc.) and thermodynamics (mass flow, etc.).
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and associated software.
  • Experience with chemically inert coatings and method of application onto metallic surfaces.
  • Understanding in PLC, SQL, SCADA, HMI, MES, Ignition SCADA, and Historian programming/coding from the ground up is a plus, but not required.
  • Understanding of instrumentation design, specification and operation.
  • The current application environment includes Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs (Logix Family). Knowledge and experience in Python, SQL Query development, and industrial Ethernet network design would be a plus
  • Familiarity with prevailing equipment design codes and standards is a plus.
  • Proven track record of analyzing data and solving problems independently.
  • Agility to work in an interdisciplinary technical field.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute independently to a rapid changing environment.
  • Capable of managing cross-functional projects.
  • Travel, both domestically and internationally, may be required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities.
  • Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, domestic & international
