Job Description:

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join a client in San Leandro. The position is with a food manufacturing plant. They have day and swing shift available for this position. Hours for the role are 5:00 am - 2:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm. The negotiable starting salary for this role is $90K-$105K. Occasionally the person in the role will be asked to work a rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts if needed. Work days are either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday. This is a full-time, direct hire position.


Job Duties:


  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes.

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

  • Lead, supervise, and support production associates of up to a team of 50 people.

  • Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.

  • Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards.

  • Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.

  • Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory.

  • Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions.

  • Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Enforce and promote safety protocols.

  • Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.

  • Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners. (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance).

  • Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.

  • Train new production employees.

  • Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Address and resolve production-related issues promptly.

  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.)

  • Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment.

  • Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.

  • Generate reports for management on production metrics.

Qualifications:




  • Two or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.

  • One or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Strong leadership background - ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.

  • Ability to manage and develop employees.

  • Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, - PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.

  • Experience in a Union environment preferred.
