This position works within the Systems Support Team and will support the mission of the University through the planning, design, and implementation of secure, compliant technology systems. The candidate will help grow and maintain secure physical on-premise technology as well as cloud-based enclaves to support administrative and research\academic areas. They will support servers, workstations, and virtual computers by providing reports, upgrades, deployment, and patching of both OS and applications. The candidate will plan and coordinate upgrades, changes and/or implementations while following established change control procedures. Systems supported include inventory and service management platform.
The position also requires the ability to quickly resolve critical issues in circumstances of major outages while also handling escalations and providing updates and resolutions for complex and pending issues. In doing so, the candidate will provide root cause analysis reports for critical issues and participate in internal IT and client calls to ensure appropriate communication and collaboration, as necessary. This position will also have regular interactions within the team to help encourage collaboration and build the technical capabilities required to improve the overall service delivery for the client.
A Bachelors with one year of relevant experience is required. Three years of relevant work experience are preferred. Experience and education will not be considered in lieu of one another. This position is located in Waco, TX and will be hybrid.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Responsible for managing custom and third-party software and systems for administrative and research\academic departments of the university.
Works closely with ITS Security and other ITS staff, functional teams, and vendors to provide strategic and technical support and management of these applications and systems.
The ability to effectively manage multiple, complex enterprise systems projects concurrently is required.
Works independently to perform a full range of responsibilities including analyzing diverse problems and determining solutions and understanding and applying industry best practices.
Able to analyze diverse problems and determine solutions by applying and understanding industry best practices.
Technical experience developing scripts using various programming languages and CLI (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
Ability to program, update, and understand APIs with familiarity using REST, SOAP, Python, Django, Graph API, etc. to perform system integrations and data access.
Advanced experience in the development and implementation of SQL query, data normalization, and report design to produce reports for data analysis.
Experience with Compliance configurations and automation to develop scripts and procedures to streamline workflows, remediation, and other processes needed for incident, request, change, and device management.
Experience with endpoint device management remediating vulnerabilities and deploying patches and updates with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, Jamf, and Ivanti.
Provides a variety of IT services including technical analysis, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various enterprise software systems and databases.
Assignments may include reviewing vendor upgrades/patches, investigating new vendor software or product issues, maintaining a service management solution, production support, and technical documentation.
Maintain effective communication and project planning across technical and functional teams, including remote colleagues, that support the university's departmental systems.
Develops an in-depth understanding of our software portfolio, manage installations and upgrades, cross-training, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Mastery of one or more relevant technologies and/or techniques and ability to train and mentor others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information processed, stored, or accessed by the systems is required.
