Vitalant, dedicated to saving lives through blood donation, is seeking a Program Manager to lead and oversee a program of interrelated projects. This role provides leadership and expertise to ensure that programs and initiatives meet customer expectations, are delivered on time, and stay within budget. The Program Manager will review programs, identify issues, and assess their impact on other projects and the overall program. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with the organization to establish standards for systems and tools, and overseeing their development to efficiently manage projects. Join our team and play a key role in supporting Vitalant's mission to ensure a safe and ample blood supply for those in need.

This position will work in the Scottsdale, AZ National Headquarters 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Identifies program's individual component projects and estimate resources required to deliver the program.

  • Manages the sharing of resources among their assigned projects to the overall benefit of the program.

  • Identifies and manages connections and dependencies among the individual projects.

  • Manages internal and external stakeholders to set expectations, review objectives, and coordinate resources across the individual component projects.

  • Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.

  • Defines requirements and plans the project life cycle deployment.

  • Works with assigned Project Managers to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program.

  • Manages program budget to conform to policy. Guides the preparation of budgets for the component projects and prepares cost estimates for the program.

  • Leads teams towards reaching goals through the effective use of organizational change management.

  • Remains abreast of changes and developments in the blood banking industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships.

  • Demonstrates an active role in maintaining current business and technology trends to ensure quality business processes, tools, and techniques are used by the organization.

Requirements

Knowledge/Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Knowledge of project management processes and methodologies required.

Knowledge of advanced principles and practices of policy and procedure development required.

Knowledge of advanced methods of program analysis and report preparation required.

Knowledge of advanced records management principles and practices required.

Knowledge of management principles including human resource management, budget administration, negotiation techniques, risk identification, and mitigation, requirements solicitation required.

Knowledge and experience with software development, systems engineering, business process engineering, customer relationship management, technology procurement, contracting, financial management, change management, risk management, and IT service management required.

Licenses/ Certifications

Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification preferred.

Experience

Eight years related experience required. To include:

• Two years supervisory experience.

• Five years progressively responsible experience in Project Management.

Experience with Information Technology infrastructure and operations required.

Experience in software development, advisory, or professional services preferred.

Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management to provide consistent high levels of customer service.

Must have proficient computer skills.
