Royal Canin is looking for a Senior Receiving Operator to join our exciting pet food business at a manufacturing plant in Fremont, NE. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs. The Sr. Receiving Operator provides technical support for day-to-day receiving lab activities to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable results. This role will be expected to lead investigations to drive continuous improvement and be the designated site trainer.
Key Responsibilities
QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY Follow and apply ISO 9001, FSS/ISO22000, Mars Standards, and all related working procedures
Abide to all plant food safety rules Ensure GMP-GHP in the area
Support plant quality and food safety investigations and root cause analysis
Ensure compliance to CCPs and oPRPs in the department
Complete all quality and food safety related trainings required for the role
Ensure the accuracy of all records and be prepared for internal and external audits
When necessary, manage non-conformities (decide, put on hold, isolate, destruct, derogate), analyze for root causes and undertake correctives actions
Raw Materials Management
Sampling raw materials from bulk trucks, big bags and totes as per MGS SOP
Perform various laboratory analysis on raw materials according to control plan following MGS test methods
Perform receiving document procedures (delivery documentations) and sign delivery documents including, if necessary, quality / quantity objections Offloading raw materials from bulk trucks and offloading pallets using forklift
Offload raw materials from trucks (bulks -liquids, grains/cereals, meals..., big bags, bags) (including adding of chemicals like insecticide or antioxidant as required by quality specifications)
Perform inventory of raw ingredients in bins, silos and racks (cyclical and period end inventories)
Inform Q&FS Manager of quality deviations according to product standards and production procedures.
Accept or decline reception of goods according to reception procedures.
Collaborate with raw material supply coordinator on inbound receiving scheduling priority.
Laboratory instrument calibrations, verifications and record keeping.
Control Sample management
Ring test management
Lead Investigations
Perform area-related equipment first level maintenance.
Prepare samples and documentation for external labs
Accurate submission of products to offsite/external laboratory
Must adhere to all environmental, health & safety procedures.
Training of new trainees on test methods
Any task as delegated by Lab Manager
CLEANLINESS & TIDINESS
Perform Housekeeping Checks to ensure compliance to 5S
Context and Scope This role interacts and works closely with the following stakeholders:
Lab Manager for any deviations within the laboratory
Flow Team for deliveries of raw materials
Lab Associates on training and investigations
Regional Q&FS Inbound Specialist for support on investigations
What are we looking for?
Previous experience in laboratory.
High data entry accuracy and strong attention to detail required (Critical)
Strong computer literacy/ Ability to adapt and learn new systems
Good communication skills/ Previous demonstrated customer service experience or equivalent experience
Technically inclined
Some metrology knowledge
Investigations/RCA and troubleshooting
Self-motivated, Team player
Operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
Color discrimination, Odor sensitive and texture perception, Depth perception, Safety & Hygiene & Quality conscious
Bachelor's/Diploma/associate degree in science or equivalent knowledge/experience
Able to adjust working hours to accommodate training/team needs
