Your Role:



The Packaging Operator 1- 2nd Shift at the Ewing site will package kits and perform filling, capping, and labeling to produce reagents and kits used by research and clinical testing laboratories throughout the world. Job duties include:





  • 2nd Shift hours: Monday - Thursday, 1:30pm - 12:00am

  • Assemble and package chemical kits.

  • Fill, cap, and label chemical products manually or using semi-automated equipment.

  • Fill products utilizing aseptic techniques and/or environmentally controlled areas.

  • Transfer bulk material utilizing peristaltic pumps.

  • Filter bulk material using pumps and in-line filters or vacuum filters.

  • Assist with loading bottles and pack-off during fill line operations.

  • Develop and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideas.

  • Comply with the requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001.

  • Participate in 6S activities.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and audit readiness.



Physical Attributes:


  • Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, beard covers (if applicable), Tyvek suits, shoe covers, and respirator.

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted & move more than 50 pounds with assistance.

  • Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold.

  • Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for the entire shift.

  • Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjust focus.

  • Work with and in proximity of hazardous chemicals and human source materials.



Who You Are:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED




Preferred Qualifications:



  • 3+ months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience.

  • 3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment.

  • Ability to do basic math-including metrics and conversions.

  • Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP's, UOP's

  • Mechanical skills with ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment.

  • Troubleshoot automated packaging equipment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to train others and work in a team setting.

  • Experience with hand tools.
