As a member of the Rehabilitative Therapies Services team, the Audiologist will join a strong transdisciplinary team serving a diverse patient population consisting primarily of children with complex medical needs, including learning and language disorders; cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders, Downs syndrome; autism spectrum disorder, and other pediatric conditions. The Audiologist will provide audiology services that include but are not limited to: comprehensive audiology evaluations including evaluating the very young and difficult to test populations, hearing aid selection and fittings, BAHA fittings, Non-sedative ABR testing (for both threshold estimation and retrocochlear function); Cochlear Implant candidacy evaluations and post-implantation activations and mappings; and be part of an inter-disciplinary cochlear implant team that work closely with ENT physicians.

Applicants must have a current AZ Dispensing Audiologist license or eligible for licensure in AZ, must have graduated from an accredited Master’s degree program and hold a current BLS certification. Two or more year’s pediatric experience preferred. Experience with EMR/EHR (NextGen) helpful.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Ability to collaborate with other providers to optimize patient care.

Ability to select and use age-, diagnosis- and developmentally-appropriate audiological assessment methods, audiometric tests, and other tools to evaluate hearing and middle-ear health.

Ability to take ear impressions for the purpose of ordering ear molds and determines the most appropriate ear mold for the patient based on the child’s age, degree of hearing loss and anatomy.

Ability to demonstrate audiological competence in a variety of position specific areas including the use of real-ear measures, computerized hearing aid selection and programming, otoacoustic emissions techniques, and ear mold impressions and related tasks.

Knowledge of audiological assessment of retrocochlear and central auditory disorders and of appropriate recommendations based on findings as well as alternative forms of personal amplification, including bone-anchored hearing aids and cochlear implants, and classroom amplification systems and classroom acoustics.

Skill in professional communication with staff and physicians involved in care, to ensure quality patient outcomes and care coordination.

Ability to operate personal computer and related office equipment and diagnostic software as needed to perform job function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Audiology required

Experience: 

Two or more year’s pediatric experience preferred

Licenses and Certificates:

Arizona Department of Health Services Dispensing Audiologist Licensure required

AHCCCS Provider Identification Number required and obtained upon hire

BLS certification required

FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE

Employees are required to maintain a current Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Proof of a current fingerprint clearance card must be received within 90 days of employment.
