Job Description: Job Description - Project Manager, Genomics Role Overview: In Merck Research Labs, we're revolutionizing healthcare through innovative research. Our Data, AI & Genome Sciences (DAGS) group is at the forefront of these efforts, using advanced genomics data to drive new target discovery and preclinical development. Leaning on large-scale sequencing data, state-of-the-art single-cell, and functional genomics technologies, we're employing AI/ML techniques to optimize the value of our genomic data. We're looking for an experienced and organized Project Manager with expertise in omics technologies and data. Your role will involve coordinating efforts between our computational and laboratory-based teams within and across departments. You'll regularly interact with data analysts, screening scientists, therapeutic area scientists and IT. Expect a dynamic role where you'll foster synchronization among teams, steer meeting structures and agendas, and maintain project management systems and dashboards. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain dashboards for tracking multiple information types, project timelines and statuses. • Lead key team meetings by setting thoughtful agendas, ensuring proper participation, providing project management insights, and following up to assure progress. • Foster effective communication and relationships with various stakeholders to facilitate problem identification, escalation, and resolution. • Improve business processes and team interactions to boost efficiency and connect people with essential information.

Qualifications: Qualifications: • BA/BS with 4+ years of scientific-related experience, OR • MS or higher degree with 2+ years of scientific-related experience. • Project Management experience in the scientific domain. • Familiarity with NGS and omics data generation. • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred Attributes: • Advanced degree is advantageous. • Project Management Certification (PMP) or formal project management training is strongly preferred. • Practical lab experience. • Drug discovery experience. • Software: MS office suite, Confluence • This role will require strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to operate in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment. Note: 12 months assignment. This position is remote, mainly supporting our team in Cambridge, MA, and reports to the DAGS Director of Project Management. EST timezone preferred (not west coast) to keep alignment easy.
