Description: Our client is currently seeking a NOC Network Engineer
Responsibilities:
Provide Tier 2 level network operational support services, including assisting with large-scale network installations and special projects.
Participate in Major Incident Management activities, identifying network performance issues and trends (e.g., identifying failing network components, reviewing firewalls for blocks, tracing network traffic).
Review and interpret network diagrams, documentation, and policies during network troubleshooting.
Comply with Information Technology & Information Security policies and procedures.
Maintain and update records in the Incident, IT Problem Management, and Change Management systems. Monitor records to ensure accuracy and completeness, and take timely actions.
Proactively review related records to identify requests that may impact the network and explore opportunities for automating manual system tasks.
Collaborate with third-party vendors for the maintenance of supported devices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Two to four years of hands-on experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred network experience within a financial organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to remain calm while multitasking and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate knowledge and experience with tools such as Infinistream Sniffer, APCON, or other packet analyzers.
Intermediate expertise in technologies including Cisco IOS, Nexus OS, Juniper Junos, Cisco ACI, F5 Load Balancing, WAN, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, and AWS Direct Connect.
Familiarity with platforms like Brocade Switches, Cisco platforms, Juniper routers, Cisco ASA Firewall, Palo Alto Firewall, Aruba Wi-Fi, and F5 Big IP.
Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ITSM tool is preferred.
