OVERVIEW:
Media and Public Relations interns support and implement public relations plans and projects for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience to help build an audience base and increase attendance and brand awareness. Primary projects include but are not limited to the creation and execution of a strategic public relations plan to promote the opening of an exhibit or an event.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Writing
• Research and help to create talking points for new exhibits
• Press alerts
• Press releases
• Ready-to-run stories for our website
• Ready-to-run stories for community newsletters and Indy’s Child magazine
• Clip, record, and file newspaper and magazine articles as they pertain to The Children’s Museum
• Monitor broadcast media and websites for information about or important to The Children’s Museum
• Research and organize files which include media clippings and other museum-related materials
• Keep local/regional media contact lists updated
• Assist the Public Relations Manager with media tours and visits
• Brainstorming potential PR or media campaigns
