PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Accountable for the management of a Certification / Completions Team and the delivery of the
certifications and/or completions scope of assigned commissioning projects in a safe and effective manner.


KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB: Oversees the processing of completion of systems to handover, in line with the project schedule and milestones, ensuring all systems are handed over fully certified in a timely and orderly manner.


CRITICAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures all certifications/completions activities are carried out in accordance with project and company procedures in a safe, environmentally responsible manner, that high standards are maintained and continuously improved. Management of either certification or completions on a very large project, or both on a moderate to large project.



RESPONSIBILITIES



RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Certification/Completions Team

  • Responsible for the management and Administration of relevant software systems

  • Providing training, guidance and mentorship to team on all aspects of completing work in line with Wood and client procedures

  • Accountable for the administration of the Completions and Commissioning Certification systems for Commissioning use, including ensuring quality of information and accuracy

  • Ensures that Certification/Completions Scopes within Limit of System Handover (LOSH) are understood and communicated before starting work

  • Oversees the arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording and assessing the results of all initial energization & 'set to work' tests which may affect safety to liaise with the Construction Team Leaders to ensure smooth hand over of systems/areas

  • Drives, assures and monitors a proactive and balanced approach to safety (conventional and environmental) to ensure that safety is optimized during certification/completions activities

  • Actively monitors completions/certification progress and performance and intervenes to avoid slippage

  • Preparation of the project completions and start-up plan including detailed activities and startup logic

  • Responsible for ensuring that all operations & maintenance requirements are identified and requirements are tracked for start-up

  • Accountable for ensuring that all team members are sufficiently trained and competent for the tasks assigned to them

  • Line management responsibility for team members including recruitment, performance management and pay reviews"

  • Review and approval of test results and progress reports

  • Ensuring activities are performed in accordance with the approved testing and completions/commissioning program

  • Discharging all Customer duties including the oversight and assurance of subcontractors and vendors engaged in completions/certification work activities

  • Manages team budget, ensuring tasks are completed within budgeted hours

  • Provide guidance to completions/certification planning process

  • Carry out safety reviews / walk-rounds

  • Carry out Customer Completions awareness sessions

  • Provide advice and guidance in relation to Completions/Certification

  • Maintain local processes and procedures, incorporating Lessons Learned

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to completions and/or certification procedures.

  • Expedites and assures the full mechanical completion of a system by construction prior to arranging handover activities to commissioning

  • Records and monitors the close out of defects or deficiencies within project scope

  • Ensure management of recording and closing out of defects or deficiencies within project scope






QUALIFICATIONS



QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Level 5 ISCED (short-cycle tertiary) qualification



Knowledge, skills, and experience:



  • Extensive experience (typically a minimum of 8 years) in a certification and/or completions role, including experience supervising and leading teams

  • Ability to read relevant drawings e.g. P&ID's, SLD's, GA's, with excellent understanding of LOSH, and ability to teach others

  • Expert knowledge of the certification and completions processes and associated software

  • Experienced in the production of procedures and reports

  • Experienced in the supervision/training of personnel and team working.

  • Excellent knowledge of projects and HSEQ safe working practices/procedures

  • Ability to carry out systemization of projects

  • Ability to demonstrate high level of understanding of HSE processes and procedures and their implementation

  • Ability to work and deliver project milestones in a consistent and structured manner
