As an Active Directory Engineer on our Windows Server OS and Active Directory team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and decommissioning of on-prem Windows Servers and Identity systems. You'll use tools like Group Policy, SCCM, and PowerShell to make work faster, safer, and more secure with an automate-first approach to enhance efficiency and impact. In addition, you will be the subject matter expert for your domain, paying close attention to how your pieces interact with Veterans United technology as a whole.
Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:
Assure a stable environment for core business products.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
Follow change management practices
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Regularly apply patches for security, stability, or feature enhancements.
Perform user management functions and system monitoring.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Participate in server patching rotation
Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

3+ years experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Active Directory and Domain Controllers
3+ years experience in designing, implementing, and managing systems and processes pertaining to on-prem and cloud identity and access management
3+ years experience with DNS and Group Policy
3+ years experience with automation, configuration, or orchestration products like SCCM, Intune, and Ansible
3+ years experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Python
3+ years experience as a Windows server administrator
3+ years experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Understanding of common enterprise storage systems and experience with at least one network storage technology, i.e., SAN, NAS, object
2+ years experience using version control tools such as Git
2+ years of experience in managing certificate lifecycles using Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
2+ years experience as a Windows server, Linux, VMWare, or Storage Administrator
Experience working in a highly virtualized environment
Experience managing modern backup and recovery solutions in a virtualized environment
Ability to troubleshoot throughout the OSI model
Thrive in a highly cooperative work setting
Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company
Regular and predictable attendance
Available to work outside normal business hours and/or on weekends
