Summary
The Saw Operator retrieves, inspects, and cuts product to customer supplied specifications.
Essential Duties
Operates saw
Inspects and cuts parts for shipment per Operator instructions
Maintains records of productions and quality issues as specified
Notifies supervisor of non-confirming product or problems with machine
Communicates saw issues with the next saw operator
Patches parts/scrap as needed
Keeps saw and yard area clean and neat
Experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Knowledge/Skills
Ability to read and comprehend drawings and quantities
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
Ability to perform these operations using metric units
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving repairs, patching and overall working of the saw
Physical Demands
This job involves the following physical demands:Walking, standing, bending, stretching, using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Job responsibilities involve occasional use of cleaning chemicals and power tools
Compensation
The hourly pay rate is $20/hr.
