Job Description:

SK pharmteco is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our integrated facilities located in California, Texas, and Virginia specialize in process development, scale-up, cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities.


We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team in Rancho Cordova, CA (greater Sacramento Area).


This position will report to the Controller and have responsibility for managing multiple accountants, setting department goals and playing a key role in our financial reporting process. The role will require a strong financial and technical accounting background, comfort navigating new and complex technical matters, outstanding communication and writing skills, attention to details, and ablity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working with various teams, including audit and tax compliance support.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of the consolidated financial statements. Prepare monthly financial reporting package. Present key results and trends to senior management and external parties. Present department budgets and work with senior management recommend improvements to financial reporting.


  • Process Improvement: Identify continous improvement opportunities of accounting processes that increase efficiency, prevent errors and enhance the financial reporting.


  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship and training. Delegate tasks to ensure cooperation in the department and foster a collaborative work environment.


  • Month-End Review and Guidance: Ensure deadlines in monthly calendar are met. Review and post journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with SOX Controls taking corrective action and training staff as necessary to stay in compliance with all deadlines and controls.


  • Audit Support: Work closely with internal and external auditors to provide accurate and timely information, resolve issues and ensure compliance with audit requirements. Includes financial statement, tax compliance, and SOX audits.


  • CAPEX, OPEX management: Monitor and analyze capital and operating expenditures. Assist with preparation of annual budgets that align with the company's strategic goals and financial plan. Regularly monitor and analyze Capex and Opex spending and compare against budgets. Provide timely and accurate financial reports and recommendations to senior management.


  • Analyze Complex and Non-Standard Accounting Transactions and Adoption of New Standards: Collaborating with senior finance team on technical accounting matters. This includes carrying out research and documentation for various complex and non-standard transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings, new product initiatives, etc., adoption of new standards, and general corporate accounting matters.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Minimum 5 years of Accounting experience.


COMPETENCIES/SKILLS



  • External audit experience preferred;

  • Experience with IFRS preferred;

  • Presentation skills appropriate for executive level;

  • Experience with Oracle e-business suite preferred;

  • Advanced user of Excel;

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment;

  • Problem solving skills;

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision;

  • Proven ability to interact effectively cross-functionally and with subsidiaries' finance team


CERTIFICATIONS and LICENSES



  • CPA preferred
