Overview


CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Test Lead to join the team in Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the testing efforts of our Appian Low/No Code, .Net based and other applications. He/She will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by selecting appropriate testing tools, developing test plans, and coordinating the execution of various test phases.

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.


Responsibilities


Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Selection and Evaluation: Conduct rapid Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to select automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber) for functional end-to-end, unit, and regression testing that can be integrated into our
  • CI/CD pipeline to test Appian Low/No Code business logic and applications.
  • Test Development: Collaborate with users and developers to write automated functional and fuzz tests for Appian and .Net based applications, simulating both expected and unexpected user behaviors.
  • Test Planning: Develop comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) plans.
  • Test Coordination: Coordinate and manage the logistics, execution, synthesis, and analysis of UAT and GAT phases to ensure thorough testing and validation of our software products.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software testing, particularly in automated testing tools and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests within them.
  • Experience with Appian Low/No Code platforms and .Net based applications.
  • Proficient in using automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with users, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills to coordinate complex testing phases.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing and executing fuzz tests.
  • Familiarity with user behavior modeling and simulation in automated tests.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

Qualifications


Required Experience and Education:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or relevant field).

Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting OR:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineerin g, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related IT discipline.

Experience: Master’s degree with 6 years of experience (or Bachelors with 8 years of experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field. Degree may be substituted with additional relevant industry experience and / or industry accepted training and certification.
