Responsibilities

This is a Senior-level Position requiring excellent technical skills as well as excellent Soft Skills. The ability to professionally communicate with leadership and peers is just as important as the technical skills required in this role. The ability to multi-task with excellent Time Management is a core requirement. Proactiveness and Accountability are keys to operational excellence and the same will be expected from the successful candidate. This resource needs a solid understanding of other inter-related database, storage, operating system, networking, and other technologies commonly found in the architecture of larger enterprise class environments. "Can do" attitude is critical as well as ability to be flexible, level-headed under pressure, strong teamwork sensibilities, and a general all-around team player.

  • Design and implement a resilient network architecture, including networking concepts and protocols, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity across the enterprise, including on-premises datacenters, cloud datacenters, carrier exchanges, and the circuits connecting them.
  • Collaborate with Network Security team to define network security and segmentation policies, standards, and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data loss, and other security threats, as well as meet PCI, HIPPA, and other compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Network Engineering and Deployment teams to provide architectural guidance and oversight for their activities.
  • Define and document the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's standards and future-state architecture vision.
  • Design and develop the architecture for a broad scope of projects, working closely with application architects that manage and design architecture for a single project or initiative. Provide consulting support to application architects within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Monitor current-state solution portfolios to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements, and recommend solutions for improvement and innovation.
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Analyze the technology industry, competitors, and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Work with cross-functional project teams to resolve technical performance issues/bottlenecks (e.g., network, storage, application).


Qualifications



  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in an enterprise setting, designing and/or supporting multiple enterprise applications and/or associated infrastructure components.
  • Experience with design and implementation of highly resilient systems, spanning multiple datacenters &/or public clouds.
  • Experience in 24x7 highly available environments and techniques.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery design, implementation, and verification techniques.
  • Strong Experience and understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: networking (hardware-Cisco/Juniper, routing-BGP, load balancers-AVI, firewalls-PaloAlto), database (Oracle, MSSQL), operating systems (Linux, Windows), enterprise storage (SAN, NAS), enterprise application development (.Net, C++, Java), public clouds (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
  • Strong qualitative, quantitative, analytical, communication, and verbal skills with a strong customer-service focus.
  • Excellent teamwork and time management skills, with ability to work toward assigned goals as part of a team, as well as independently, with limited supervision.
  • Skilled at working well with different staff levels, within and outside of core competency.
  • Experience in the Financial/Banking and/or Healthcare sectors a plus.
