Physical Requirements:

Regular use of computer workstation and repetitive motion. Occasional standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds. Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 50 pounds. Regular exposure to blood borne/airborne pathogens.


Shift:

Monday - Friday, day shift with some early morning and early evening hours. Possibility of call time.


Job Summary:

UK Healthcare is seeking an individual with excellent customer service skills to work in the Kentucky Clinic Laboratory.


The Medical Lab Technician will register and schedule patients utilizing all appropriate systems and check insurance coverage and eligibility. This position will also manage the release of electronic orders and handle some specimen collection and processing. The candidate must be a team player and be able to take initiative.


Individual proficient in phlebotomy of all age groups is preferred.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Two year degree or equivalent college credits preferred. Experience in medical office registration and scheduling also preferred.
