Astellas is announcing a Sr. Research Associate, Process Science & Technology opportunity at their Astellas Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA.



Purpose:


Execute studies to develop or improved processes for cell therapy products. The results of this work will justify manufacturing process or product changes designed to improve product performance and yield or identify critical parameters of processes.



Essential Job Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with other Process Science and Technology (PST) team members, conduct laboratory experiments and tabulate results.

  • Perform short- and long-term cell culture experiments of established process protocols.

  • Assist in planning and implementing the development of new processing materials, procedures, and products.

  • Assist in lab material inventory and lab operation.

  • Assist in cellular and molecular assay development and execution.

  • Assist in establishing process parameters and improving manufacturing efficiencies.

  • Prepare and/or review study reports.



Quantitative Dimensions:


The work will focus on improving existing clinical trial processes and products as well as developing processes for new product candidates. Successful completion of tasks will lead to the timely initiation of new clinical trials and/or improve production efficiencies and product safety.



Organizational Context:


This person will report directly to a Principal Scientist. The individual will work closely with other members of the PST staff and interact with MST, DPD and AD groups.
