Volt is immediately hiring a Facilities Operator for a leading provider of semiconductor lasers and micro optics.

Climate Controlled - Great Company Culture - Long Term Assignment!

As a Facilities Operator, you will:

  • Manage the Central Utility Building and all associated plant control systems, which include chillers, boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, backup generators, scrubbed exhaust systems, UPS equipment, water plant, and electrical distribution, along with other support equipment and the related distribution of utilities.
  • Monitor a variety of ancillary systems to include heating and cooling control, pup pressures, tank levels, lubricating systems etc. to ensure temperature, humidity, and other processes are maintained.
  • Adjust equipment for efficient operation including burners and combustion controls.
  • Responsible for plant log entries of gauges, dials, pressures, temperatures, flows, waste stream information, compliance monitoring, and other shift activities.
  • Observe all safety regulations, operating, and company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all necessary monthly/daily/shift reports and computer work including environmental, safety, plant logs, near misses, downtime, work orders, and overall operation reports.
  • Support all environmental, health, safety, and security requirements and programs.
  • Respond to facility work orders.
  • Complete preventative maintenance assignments.
  • Perform a variety of duties to help maintain and improve the overall facilities.
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical and construction projects.
  • Replace belts, filters and lights.
  • Spot painting and sheetrock repair .
  • Work from manuals, specifications, drawings and verbal instruction.
  • Serve as a contractor escort .

Facilities Operator candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to stand, walk and go up and down lifts and stairs consistently over a 12 hour shift.
  • Basic knowledge of general property maintenance.
  • Able to perform basic building repairs.
  • Safe use of power and hand tools needed to perform the job.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to work with outside contractors, vendors and suppliers.
  • Candidates selected must meet all pre-screening eligibility requirements.
  • Must be able to work an overnight 12 hour shift. Training will be for 3-4 months on a day schedule.
This is a full-time opportunity

Experience with the following is a plus:
  • Building Maintenance
  • Apartment Maintenance
  • Construction

Pay Rate: $21.00 + 15% shift premium
