JOB SUMMARY

The Shipping and Receiving Intern will support various logistics and inventory management tasks within the Prototype Shop, contributing to efficient operations and timely deliveries. This role involves close collaboration with the engineering, supply chain, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth workflow and effective inventory control.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Essential Functions:

  • Receiving and Inventory Management: Assist with receiving large orders, verifying packing slips against shipments, and expediting inventory processes.
  • Package Delivery: Hand deliver packages to the engineering team as requested.
  • Order Assistance: Help with receiving large Costco orders and stocking storage shelves.
  • Material Handling: Retrieve, move, and set up materials for the business development and ARV teams.
  • Delivery Support: Assist with deliveries, including moving large items like business development cabinets to various locations.
  • Employee Relief: Cover for receiving employees, allowing them to run errands or take lunch breaks. Log received materials into the system and organize them for processing.
  • Warehouse Specialist Support: Relieve the current warehouse specialist to enable attendance at meetings in Troy.
  • Shipping Preparation: Assist with preparing skids for shipping.
  • Tracking and Documentation: Help maintain up-to-date tracking systems and logs

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to handle and move large items.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and shipping processes is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks within the supply chain operations. Must be able to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance

Education:

High School Diploma

Background Prerequisites:

  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
  • All employment at ARV is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if the position requires it.
