Quality Planner / Aerospace Contract Review at Imagineering Finishing Technologies

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The Quality Planner supports the IFT Quality and the Production Teams in contract review and part method setup activities, with a goal of achieving 100% compliance to contract, blueprint, and specification requirements. Attention to detail and intense critical reading is a key requirement for this position.

2. The Quality Planner will be called upon to perform the following activities:

a. Perform critical reviews of customer purchase orders/contracts to determine technical, regulatory, and job set up requirements. These reviews often require a multi-level approach to create a processing method applicable to all personnel.
b. Compare purchase order, specification, and blueprint requirements to assure any conflicts are addressed and resolved prior to release for processing.
c. Analysis of part materials and conditions to determine possible restrictions and cautions required during the process, such as stress relief, hydrogen embrittlement, and chemistry restrictions.
d. Mark up and ballooning of blueprints as needed to provide processing personnel with needed information, such as masking instructions, handling and fixturing locations, critical surfaces, etc.
e. The Quality Planner will write and/or revise processing instructions (DPCs) that conform to purchase order, specification, and blueprint instructions, as well as Nadcap requirements for recordable information and operator buyoffs.
f. Assist the Quality Team with PPAP and CQI reports. As needed.
g. Provide technical support for Production Management.

3. Currently IFT is accredited to ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Nadcap for ChemProcessing and NDT. The QUALITY PLANNER will be become familiar with these accreditation standards and these requirements flow-downs impact the processes performed by IFT.

4. The QUALITY PLANNERs Primary Role is to support the Imagineering motto that we follow our customers instructions better than other companies when reviewing and setting up jobs.

5. The QUALITY PLANNER has the responsibility to halt customer purchase orders and part method setups that lack the information and instructions needed to meet all specifications, accreditations, and blueprint requirements, as well as legal and moral requirements that do not promote the most stringent business and ethical practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

JOB LEVEL:
This position operates at a Master level and receives minimal instruction on a daily basis. This position ultimately reports to the Director of Operational Support. Possesses communication and leadership skills necessary to coach and train other personnel to job requirements.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
Requires experience in technical reading, blueprint interpretation, and basic knowledge of quality systems. Must possess knowledge required to complete all Imagineering internal paperwork. Two/four year college degree is preferred, but past experience or on the job training will be considered instead of the degree.

JOB COMPLEXITY
Assignments are complex in nature where advanced problem solving, prioritizing, and communicating with all levels of plant and management personnel is a necessity.

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments as necessary

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in a proactive team effort to achieve departmental and company goals
Perform other duties as assigned
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

Job Requirements
Vision Requirements
Individuals who inspect material for final acceptance must have:
o Color Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements
o Near-Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements
The Individual(s) must meet the minimum standards in one eye, corrected with glasses/contacts or not
corrected.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
The individual is encouraged to complete 24 hours of job related training per year. This may be completed by university level courses or seminars as approved by the Director of Quality or Director of Strategic Positioning.

TRAVEL
Local and overnight travel may be required..
