A National Account Manager manages and grows relationships with major online and brick-and-mortar retailers. The role involves creating and implementing strategic plans to grow existing accounts and secure new ones. The ideal candidate should be energetic, self-motivated, and have a Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and requires the ability to develop creative and innovative sales programs for assigned accounts.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Identify, cultivate, grow, and manage key account programs in specified sales channels.

  • Implement short-, medium--, and long-term account strategies with management.

  • Develop and coordinate promotional marketing programs with key strategic retail partners for new product launches during everyday and holiday sales

  • Identify buyer influences, recommended trends & product needs.

  • Maintaining deep relationships at each Key Account, including buying planning/replenishment, assistant buyers, merchandising, and management.

  • Knowledge of specific account compliance requirements and the ability to communicate with appropriate departments to close the deal.

  • Weekly POS analytics, and appropriate action plan, maximizing sales, minimizing risk by communicating with replenishment managers, and building and securing long-term relationships with retailers.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, and ability to manage account data, resulting in timely, retailer-compliant shipments.

  • Maintain an updated log of all account activities, progress, and results.

  • Interfacing with finance to make sure receivables are paid on time and accurately.

  • Meeting budgeted sales goals at established profit margins by forecasting account product needs.

  • Analyze weekly sell-through reports to maximize upside business, minimize risk, recognize trends, establish POS multiples, and manage account ladder plans.

  • Requires air travel or overnight travel

  • Participate in product development and senior management line reviews as needed.

  • Collaborate with other teams in the company



Experience & Skills:


  • A minimum of five years of experience in sales for mid-sized and large accounts.

  • Toy industry experience is required; consumer product industry experience is preferred

  • Experience with mission-driven brands is preferred.

  • A demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • A strong sense of creativity, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to multitask and change direction seamlessly

  • Possess a positive attitude toward teamwork

  • Experience developing and executing promotional sales programs for major retailers

  • Effectively manages time, is proactive, highly organized, pays attention to details, and is highly organized

  • MS Office Suite proficiency is required

  • A proven track record of delivering financial results

  • Bachelor's degree required
