We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Maintenance & Reliability to join our team at the Marysville Chemical Plant in Marysville, Ohio! In this role, you'll be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery in industrial settings. Using computerized systems, you'll oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs. You'll also be involved with control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance.


Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing industries. Working with other professionals, you'll improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.



What you'll do in this role:

Serve as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
Ensure that predictive and preventative maintenance strategies reflect corporate standards and industry best practices.
Leverage industry-best practices to design and implement continuously improving predictive maintenance technologies and programs.
Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
Evaluates condition of mechanical equipment (including chillers, air handlers, blowers, elevators, screws and conveyors) to predict life and adjust maintenance intervals.
Diagnose technical problems, identify short and long-term solutions using Root Cause Analysis tools (Fishbone, 5-Why, FMEA, and other tools) and facilitate the implementation of solutions
Identify common loss themes across facilities; provide and support implementing solutions
Partner with Plant Managers to execute manufacturing improvement plans
Develop and maintain KPI's to reflect improving maintenance performance.
Participate in development and prioritization of capital requests
Develop business cases, seek executive approval, and lead implementation of asset maintenance capital projects.
Maintain equipment data in SAP.
Carry out quality inspections on maintenance jobs.
Assist in the training / coaching of hourly personnel in repairs and preventative maintenance.
Exhibit safe work behaviors and work safely without injury or insult to the environment.



What you'll need to be successful:

B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
5+ years of engineering or maintenance experience in a fast paced environment.
Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization.
Working knowledge of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance systems.
Working knowledge of CMMS software, specifically SAP.
Ability to use current Google Suite and Windows Office applications.


The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $96,800.00 - $113,900.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
