TITLE: OPS Learning Specialist (Talent Search Grant)

HIRING SALARY: $15.00 per hour

HOURS: 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm, estimated 20 hours/week (some evening and weekends required)

MAJOR FUNCTION: The OPS Learning Specialist is a grant funded position. The primary role of the person in this position is to provide positive interactions with students regarding educational and career planning, success strategies, tutoring and resources. The position also will assist with clerical and data entry duties.

MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent diploma. Previous experience in a post-secondary educational environment, customer service experience, data entry experience, and technology skills are preferred.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Knowledge of local and nationwide policies and procedures relating to financial aid, and college admissions. Ability to speak in public and lead student groups. Proficiency in computer skills such as email, Microsoft Office software, internet searching, social media, and the ability to troubleshoot various hardware and websites. Ability to show discretion and good judgment in handling confidential matters. Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, sometimes under busy conditions. Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
