Responsibilities

  • In consultation with the Graduate Student Resource Center (GSRC) director, facilitate and manage multiple student services projects within the GSRC, including development of an ongoing professional development workshop series, dissertation accountability groups, and an annual campus resource fair. Develop resource materials, workshops, engagement efforts and training programs that support the university's Quality Enhancement Plan initiatives and doctoral student success. Present to a variety of constituents, including students, faculty, and staff.



  • Administer a research and creative activity travel grant program for advanced doctoral students, including coordination with one administrative staff position, managing the application process, eligibility verification, award communications, and reconciliation of accounts.Support the GSRC director on improving related policies and administrative procedures for the program.Oversee data maintenance and a records management system for all application materials that support grant award or denial.



  • Assist the GSRC director in developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to support the activities of the GSRC and its campus partners.



  • Assist the GSRC director in collaborating with faculty and staff in academic departments and student services units to collect information and data necessary to enhance doctoral student performance and minimize the barriers to timely degree completion.



  • Conduct and track resource consultations and referrals for students who contact the GSRC for assistance with issues or questions.Train and oversee other GSRC staff who assist with resource consultations and referrals to ensure accurate information and confidentiality.



  • Work with the Graduate Student Resource Center director to implement the university's Quality Enhancement Plan, including implementation of related initiatives, assessment activities, coordination of any technology efforts that support the QEP initiatives, and writing required reports.Assist the GSRC director with special projects by providing analytical and writing support as needed for the GSRC or the Office of the Provost.



Qualifications

Academic master's degree or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructional Specialist I. This job requires working knowledge of higher education, preferably in an institution-wide, research university setting, ability to organize work effectively, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Excellent communication skills and proficiency with basic Office applications are also required.


Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree and one year of job-related experience preferred.
