This position supports our workers' compensation line of business, Eastern Alliance. Preference is for this position to be based within a reasonable commuting distance of the Lancaster, PA office for a hybrid schedule and ability to gather for company meetings, department meetings, and special events.

Internally, the job title for this position is Producer & Compliance Specialist.


The primary responsibility of the Agency Licensing and Compliance Specialist is to coordinate, manage and maintain agency and individual producer appointments and agency contracts to ensure Company compliance with all federal and state requirements regarding producer appointment laws and regulations. This position will also be responsible for supporting the Company's corporate compliance activities through the performance of assigned tasks.



Essential Functions:



40% - Manage all aspects of the producer appointment process including obtaining and reviewing background checks and credit reports to ensure compliance with Company guidelines; reviewing licensing records to identify the states that require licensing and/or appointment; create manual appointment forms when online appointments are unavailable; maintain the producer database; and serve as main point of contact on producer appointment related issues/inquiries. Develop and maintain detailed processes and procedures related to producer appointments.


15% - Coordinate with Eastern's Marketing team members to onboard and terminate agency partners, including creation and maintenance of records on ALAS, and coordinating and eaport setup with MIS. Review disengagement letters to ensure all state producer appointment/termination regulations have been followed. Update agency contracts for commission changes and ensure policy administration system is updated to reflect the changes.


15% - Create and generate various reports to confirm producer appointments have been processed completely and accurately. Perform a reconciliation of producer appointments between the database and state producer appointment invoices at least annually. Ensure eaport user settings are consistent with producer information and appointments. Maintain policy documentation log and update records.


10% - Responsible for various corporate compliance-related tasks including, but not limited to, the following:


  • Plan, prepare and file quarterly and annual financial filings for all states in which Eastern is licensed.

  • Review CODE Compliance notices for applicability to Eastern and assign tasks to appropriate team members. Provide assistance to team members as needed to complete the tasks on a timely basis.

  • Assist with completion and submission of state regulatory filings, including data calls.

  • 5% - Serve as main resource and point of contact for Sircon relationship. Develop and maintain a procedure manual for the Sircon system. Train users as necessary.

  • 5% - Review and process appointment-related invoices on a timely basis. Prepare the producer appointment expense budget for inclusion in the Company's annual plan.




Secondary Functions:



5% - Provide support for the Marketing Department such as preparing reports during business planning, tracking active contracts/locations by region on a quarterly basis and tracking the number of disengagements on an annual basis.


5% - Train new team members regarding agency and producer appointment procedures, resources, and requirements. Participate in the annual Marketing Summit.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:



  • A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years insurance licensing, compliance or strongly related experience is required. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new computer software applications.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and time management skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization as well as with agency partners, regulatory personnel, and compliance consultants.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with personal information.

  • Ability to interpret and apply various producer appointment laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism, independence, efficiency, and initiative.

Position Salary Range$21.37 - $35.27The salary range displayed represents the entirety of the pay grade for this position. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
