Look no further - DHHS, Division of Children and Family Services is looking for a CMSW Supervisor to join their clinical team within the CFS Prevention Unit. Under general direction, this position directs the Certified Master Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, and DHHS Program Specialist RN in a non-institutional setting to support youth and families.

As a CMSW Supervisor you will:


  • Coordinate and ensure implementation of the clinical team care coordination activities in carrying out Program functions.

  • Supervision is exercised over core personnel from various disciplines assigned to the Clinical Program area, i.e., licensed clinical social worker, and LMHP.

  • Work is performed under the supervision of the Administrator or Deputy Director

  • Establishes and maintains program operational procedures, including coordinating the completion of behavioral health assessments, development of care plans and care coordination meetings as applicable, coordinating the assignment of patients to program team members, coordinating program functions with supportive activities in other units, and directing the day-to-day program activities.

  • Maintains communication lines between the clinical team and other Divisional programs and external providers to ensure continuity of care for patients.

  • Coordinates the discharge process of patients in the program, as applicable.

  • Assures best practices are maintained for patients involved in the program by assigning work to program staff.

  • Reviews and approves clinical care coordination plans.

  • Coordinate care and planning with the MCO's and registered clinical crisis providers.

  • Supervises personnel from various disciplines in carrying out the Program functions.




Requirements / Qualifications:




Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work and three years Master Social Worker experience, including supervisory experience.



Legal Requirements: Certification as a Master Social Worker by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is required in accordance with Neb. Rev. Stat. ยง 38-2128.



Hiring rate: Starting pay rate $32.634/hour, increase to $33.983/hour after successful completion of original probation.


Knowledge of: behavioral health therapeutic interventions; available community resources; behavior modification; psychiatric, social, vocational rehabilitation training, policy development; supervisory methods and practices; program evaluation procedures. Preferred knowledge of crisis intervention.


Skill in: interpersonal communications; various therapeutic approaches; treatment planning and implementation; formulating assessments; planning/organization; problem-solving; supervision and delegation; program development and program, evaluation, and administration; leadership and training.


Ability to: communicate effectively; prioritize work activities; generate and disseminate information. Develop therapeutic relationships; effectively interact with a variety of patients, peers, and professionals; coordinate discharge planning as applicable; enforce policies and procedures; manage and direct programs.
