Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the patient care team! The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assuring that communication with each patient is handled in a professional and tactful manner and plans and manages patient care according to each individual's needs.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational, or trade school in a Licensed Practical Nurse program with relevant course work in Pharmacology; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a hospital or ambulatory care clinic; may require computer experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse. May require work experience in a particular area of nursing or health care.
