Position Overview



  • Representative of the Engineering North America team in wind farms projects to gather information, collect data, execute turbine tests, perform turbine troubleshooting and perform validation of design modification or improvements during the execution phase of a project (construction and commissioning).


  • Develop expertise in testing methods, develop analysis methods, and ensure complete reporting & database entry of results.


  • Perform and support turbine system troubleshooting at the wind farm (wiring, software, sensors, etc.), together or independently from site personal, either when the project is under commissioning or service operation.


  • Analyzing top issues in product and fleet for proactive approach to solutions, retorfits and trending faults or conditions.


  • Relocation will not be offered for this role.



Responsibilities



  • Representative of the Engineering North America team in wind farms projects to gather information, collect data, execute turbine tests, perform turbine troubleshooting and perform validation of design modification or improvements during the execution phase of a project (construction and commissioning).


  • Interfaces with Engineering North America to provide feedback on turbine technical issues during turbine execution, design improvements and lessons learned.


  • Work independently, with commissioning, with service operations, with independent testing agencies, or with the customer as needed to perform Engineering related activities.


  • Plan and communicate clearly with internal and external customers objectives, expectations, and reporting.


  • Create relationships with the site and office personnel (internal and external)


  • Maximize the use of troubleshooting applications, analyze the data, and work in close cooperation with the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software / SCADA


  • Identifies process improvements; includes reduction of non-value added operations, increased productivity opportunities, increased safety opportunities, etc.



Required Knowledge, Education, Experience and Skills

  • Perform and support turbine system troubleshooting at the wind farm (wiring, software, sensors, etc.), together or independently from site personal, either when the project is under commissioning or service operation.


  • Develop expertise in testing methods, develop analysis methods, and ensure complete reporting & database entry of results.


  • Has the experience or expertise to solve problems, lead root cause analysis and execute objectives for self and others.


  • Building of work control packages for top issues in products under operations.


  • Ensure the installation and supply of test instrumentation, test tooling and auxiliary equipment; ensure the reception of material is done according to established requirements.


  • Check, confirm and demonstrate the compliance with the validation requirement and third-party results


  • Proficiency in collecting and postprocessing large datasets (programming and scripting)


  • Analyzing top issues in product and fleet for proactive approach to solutions, retorfits and trending faults or conditions.

Preferred Knowledge, Education, Experience and Skills


  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of work experience


  • Wind Energy experience is a must.


  • Bachelor's Degree ( Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronic)


  • Trouble shooting experience is a must.


The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Inc., it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $ 88,000.00 - 132,000.00.
