Assists primarily in the preparation, performance and recordkeeping integral to invasive and non–invasive neuro-interventional imaging cases; potentially cross trained in cardiac interventional cases
Minimum Job Requirements
Florida licensed as a Radiologic Technologist - active and in good standing throughout employment.
American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) - active and in good standing throughout employment.
1-2 years of peripheral, body, and neuro-interventional radiology experience required
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS - active and in good standing throughout employment.
Job Specific Duties:
Assists physician during interventional, neuro-interventional, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
Adheres to radiation safety practices, clean sweep guidelines, infection control, and sterile technique standards at all times.
Accountable to follow all time out process according to hospital policies prior to the initiation of all procedures.
Manages and maintains inventory of supplies. Orders supplies for interventional, diagnostic neuro-interventional, and cardiovascular procedures.
Maintains record of patient examination and additional pertinent procedure information to be completed post procedure per departmental standard.
Operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment as directed by physician, manufacturer recommendations, and/or protocol.
Prepares and organizes procedure suite and selects proper technical factors for radiographic procedures.
Promotes/practices cost containment.
Prepares patient and exam table with aseptic sterile technique.
Collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient workflow and promotes clear communication with technologists, administrative staff, chiefs, and physicians.
Provides educational information to patients and families regarding procedure, including timing and outcomes in a compassionate way; communicates openly to check for understanding.
Applies knowledge of growth and development in customer interactions and treatment. Responsible for the Service Excellence Index (SEI) for patients/families. Implements strategies to increase SEI.
Follows hospital patient identification policy prior to performing examination.
Ensures proper images are transmitted to PACS system for Physician review.
Common Duties
Maintains accountability by ensuring compliance thru timely completion of licensures, certifications, all competencies, health requirements (PPD, N95, Flu, etc.), and education requirements.
Maintains accountability and timekeeping expectations as outlined by MCHS Timekeeping and Attendance policy and procedures. Ensures behavior is compliant with communication standards.
Ensures behavior meets and/or exceeds targeted service scores as measured by the Service Index and/or the internal departmental service survey.
